I've been doing intermittent fasting for over two months now with none of the benefits. My testosterone hasn't budged and my growth hormone is actually lower. My first meal is usually 3-4 eggs cooked in grass fed butter 4 chicken sausages and an apple, 2nd meal is usually salmon and broccoli and an apple. I'm also taking zinc, fenugreek etc that are all supposed to raise testosterone but still no luck. I've done ARX resistance workout twice a week treadmill for uphill cardio for 1-2 sessions of 30 mins almost everyday. Any suggestions on something I may be missing that's keeping IGF and Testosterone from increasing? Thanks I really enjoy the videos.
I just bought some HCG Boost supplements online and I’m already fasting 23hrs a day. Idek why I don’t go searching your videos before buying stuff 🤦🏽♀️
QUESTION: Can the 8:6 fasting timeframe count if I had the last mean like by 6:00 p.m. and stop my fasting the next day by 12:00 p.m.? O do I have to count the night as an 8:00 period?
I just thought, "How come they never talked about fasting in all those weightlifting magazines that I bought years ago?" (Dawns on me that every other page was an ad. for protein drinks, bulk-up powders, carby drinks, after-workout bars, etc...)
May be a stupid question but does diet soda break the fast? I know it’s not good for you in general but for health reasons I’ve had to cut out basically any advice that I have and sadly I know that I drink too much diet soda anyway and I know it’s bad for me. Thoughts please. Thanks 🙏
Came off my 49 Hour fast today - Thought about going another day since I wasn't going crazy for food. But I decided to have some. I have been eating 1 meal a day and fasting for 24 hours anyway.
Ok I've been doing two meals 18:6 for a while and so far, I've lost 45 pounds. I have to say that the increase in fat and very low carbs has left me with no hunger whatsoever. It's amazing! I will await my weight stall and once or twice a week, I'll go to one meal a day - just to shock my body. Enjoying the ride.
Dr. Berry, when you say eat one day and skip the next day, that is more than 24 hrs; it is more like 40+ hours of fasting. Is that what you mean? Thanks!
What about chicken or beef broth cubes during the fast? They really squelch my hunger pains when I start feeling like I've got to eat. I tend to be compulsive and if I break a fast, usually cause of hunger pains, I really mess up and blow my progress. Any suggestion????????
Will artificial sweeteners break your fast? I've seen some things saying yes but its conflicting because the minimal spike in insulin just doesnt seem like it would do much to break your fast.
I do much better with energy and how I feel not fasting as much. Breakfast lunch and dinner no snacks and eating meat fruits and veggies when I eat. Dairy too like Greek yogurt of course. I’m not seeing all the benefits from fasting other than feeling tired and drag ass after a few days of skipping breakfast.
I've been doing this for 3 months, and the results have been amazing! But just lately, I've noticed that on my eating days, I only want one meal. That has caused an aggregate calorie deficit such that this past week, I've had to suspend the alternate day fast to catch up.
I fast pretty much all the time. And this has been for the last 30+ years. Most of the time I only eat once a day however something I've noticed in the last 6 months or so is when I do eat I feel dizzy and I get heart palpitations. Almost as if I had taken some kind of "speed". Really strange. I'm finding that I can graze but not eat big meals at a single sitting. And even though I haven't had ANY kind of Fast Food in months I used to be able to eat it and I actually felt better! Plus lost weight. Doesn't make any sense to me. When I retired from the military 18 yrs ago I I weighed 164 lbs. Today I weigh 183. And that stays pretty constant. Also in my early 60's so I don't think that's too bad.
Okay.. so tomorrow I don't eat.
ReplyDeletePlus I'm feeling not so great.
